Global Ambitions Begin Here: Students Explore Top U.S. Universities
Published: Tue 10 June 2025ICS helps prepare students to study at the Ivy League and America’s most prestigious universities, ensuring that students receive a world class education to support their future career aspirations. Last November, as part of the Elite University programme, ICS together with peers from our sister school NCS, embarked on an international trip to the USA.
The journey began in Boston, where we toured the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and Harvard University, gaining first hand experience of the campus environments. At Harvard, we engaged with engineers working on advanced robotics (specifically tiny, bug-like robots designed to operate collectively) and had the unique opportunity to speak with a professor about this research in fluid mechanics. The trip continued in New York, where we visited both Princeton and Columbia University. These campus tours, combined with insightful Q&A sessions, offered a valuable glimpse into academic life in the U.S and helped deepen our understanding of the American higher education system.

ICS students receive specialist preparation for the Ivy League and other elite USA universities for free. In the first term of Year 12 the students attend a workshop which gives an overview of studying abroad. From here students who want to explore studying abroad further have opportunities to attend additional talks and seminars run throughout the year which cover topics such as completing the Common Application, writing an effective personal statement, Financial Aid and how to make yourself stand out. Towards the end of Year 12, interested students begin their SAT preparation. Throughout our students time here at ICS the teachers and staff offer support with the admin and paperwork. From arranging the entrance exams, to providing references and evidence, to supporting the writing of any application essays and statements. Under one universal Elite University Preparation Programme, we provide students with the very best information, advice and guidance possible.
