Students Gain Insight into Sustainable Food Systems at Schroders Conference

This week, a group of sixth form students attended the “Climate Innovation in the Food Supply Chain” Sustainability Conference hosted by Schroders.

The event took place at the firm’s office, bringing together professionals, students and sustainability leaders to discuss one of the most pressing global challenges: how to make food systems more environmentally sustainable. The visit provided students with a rare opportunity to engage directly with experts working at the intersection of finance, sustainability and global supply chains, while gaining insight into how climate innovation is shaping the future of the food industry.

“We listened to a panel from different organisations discussing ways to minimise the carbon footprint of our food through redistribution, meat cultivation and urban farming. We learnt about the issues with our food supply chains and misconceptions about ultra processed food. Ultra processed food is not a label of nutritional value, but the process the food went through. The extensive innovation taking place in London and throughout the UK gives hope for a future of better managed food chains, benefitting both the people and the environment.”

We would like to extend our sincere thanks to Schoders for hosting and insightful and engaging event.
