ICS visits Linklaters Careers in Law
Published: Fri 13 March 2026Our students recently enjoyed an inspiring and informative visit to Linklaters, gaining valuable insight into careers within a global law firm.
The day began with a warm welcome from the team, followed by an introduction to the firm and an overview of the programme. Students then took part in an interactive Careers Carousel, where they rotated through different sessions to learn about a range of roles, career pathways, and routes into the legal profession. This provided a broad understanding of the opportunities available and the skills required to succeed.
Students were also introduced to key interview techniques through a dedicated masterclass, such as the STAR method, where professionals shared practical advice on applications, preparation strategies, and how to stand out in competitive recruitment processes. The students were encouraged to approach interviews as professional conversations and taught the importance of a good first impression.

A highlight of the visit was the mock interview session, which gave students the opportunity to practise their interview skills and receive personalised feedback from experienced professionals. Tours of the offices offered a behind-the-scenes look at the working environment and culture of the firm.
The visit concluded with a reflection session, allowing students to consider their key takeaways and how they can apply what they learned to their future aspirations.
